There’s nothing better than having a last minute gig when you thought you were going to have a boring weekend; the only downside was Kentish Town station is still shut and I had to walk from Tufnell Park in the rain with no coat. [Bracken is, in case it’s not obvious by now, a Southerner – Mosh (from Newcastle where this would still be classed as t-shirt weather].
I was very excited about tonight’s show, which featured two bands I had been listening to for a while but had never seen live. The amazing Conquer Divide, a five-piece rock/metal band from Michigan, went first. I’ve been following them since 2020, when they released an excellent cover of Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy”, so it was great to finally see them. The band came out to “Wannabe” by the Spice Girls, which the audience seemed to enjoy immensely, and entered the stage with a high level of energy, which they maintained throughout their performance. They played a mixture of both older and newer music, and even stopped around halfway through their set to wish vocalist Madison a happy birthday.
An entertaining and talented support act, here’s hoping this is their stepping stone to a headline tour sometime soon.

Finally it was time for the main act, the air thick with anticipation, the crowd erupted into cheers as The Warning graced the stage. It’s been roughly a year since The Warning last played London, and this time the venue was almost double the size.

The band opened up with their latest single “S!CK” which sent the crowd absolutely crazy. Playing song after song with little to no talking between them really showed that they were there just to show off their music. It was clear to see that the crowd were loving it too!
The Warning’s setlist was a rollercoaster of emotions and energy, showcasing their versatility and talent. “CHOKE” and “Qué Más Quieres” kept the momentum going, blending powerful vocals with electrifying instrumentals. As the set progressed, songs like “Survive” and “Automatic Sun” highlighted the band’s ability to captivate with both their musicality and stage presence.
The emotional depth of tracks like “Dust to Dust” and “Hell You Call a Dream” provided poignant moments, connecting with the audience on a deeper level. “MORE” and “MONEY” injected a dose of adrenaline into the atmosphere, while “DISCIPLE” showcased their rock-solid musicianship.
Closing the main set with “MARTIRIO”, they left the crowd buzzing with anticipation for the encore. The encore performance of “Narcisista” and “EVOLVE” was the perfect conclusion, leaving fans exhilarated and craving more.
This had been one of the best gigs I have been to this year. It’s really great to see some younger bands who really care about their music as well as fans who were just as enthusiastic!
