Livestream Review: Crypt Crawler – Transmissions from the Future (28th November 2021)

Professionally recorded on August 10th, 2021 at Vision Studios, with a  live set features tracks spanning the band’s full discography, followed by a Q&A. Crypt Crawler’s Transmissions from the Future promised something special.

Immediately this had me hook, line & sinker with the VHS style start and from there the band delivered an absolute non-stop onslaught. Particular favourites for me included “Force Fed to the Dead”, “An Exorcism” and “Flesh Obsessed”.

We were even treated to “Pale Earth”, an unreleased track which was written during the To the Grave sessions, that had been reworked and resurrected. If that wasn’t enough, the band also released this performance on fantastic looking orange cassettes – limited to 100, one of which resides in this very house.

The production was also something that I felt the band had given a lot of thought and time to. The camera angles worked really well and the overall presentation was something I felt really added to the overall atmosphere and my enjoyment of the show.

The last time I was this hyped, Dark Lords of the Universe were being beamed down in Howard the Duck. This transmission of Western Australian death metal certainly lived up to that.

This is one performance I would watch over and over.
