Horror metal titans Ice Nine Kills have officially stepped into the fog today with the release of their brand-new single, “Play Dead” (streaming now). The track and its accompanying cinematic music video have been created in direct collaboration with Dead by Daylight, the world’s leading multiplayer horror game, to celebrate the franchise’s landmark 10th Anniversary.
The track was penned alongside longtime Dead by Daylight composer Michel F. April, merging two massive, genre-obsessed universes built on suspense, survival, and mythology. Alongside the single release, an in-game Ice Nine Kills Collection has been launched, offering unique DLC so players can represent the band within the game’s blood-soaked playground..
The video continues the band’s celebrated, high-concept lore, welcoming skateboard icon Tony Hawk, Devon Sawa (Final Destination, Idle Hands), and Krsy Fox (Terrifier 3) to the expanding INKverse. It follows a stellar run for the band, who recently secured their first-ever Active Rock Radio #1 with “Twisting The Knife”, the official track from the Scream 7 closing credits.
Following their massive mainstage slot at Download Festival earlier this month, the band has announced their most ambitious live production yet. The UK leg of their March In Silence tour will see them headline London’s O2 Arena on 28th March 2027. We reckon tickets will fly out for this one, much like the upcoming dates for the Iron Maiden 50th anniversary tour.
