Bordeaux-based screamo and post-hardcore outfit Solitone have announced their return with a brand new EP titled Le champ des possibles, scheduled for release on 19th June 2026. Initially dropping exclusively on cassette, a vinyl edition will follow on 4th September via Voice Of The Unheard.
To lead the charge, the French quartet release the EP’s first single, “Dés.ab.usé.e.s,” today. The track tackles the complex feeling of workplace alienation at all levels, capturing the struggle of workers trying to survive on their wages alongside the exhaustion of professionals left with little time or energy at the end of their careers. A second single, “L’écoute sur la table,” is slated to follow on 3rd June.
Musically and conceptually, Le champ des possibles (The Scope Of Possibilities) marks a deeply political evolution for the band, which formed more than a decade ago. Moving away from evasive lyricism, members Hugo, Nicolas, Pierre, and Yannick have crafted an uncompromised, anticapitalist manifesto. The EP directly confronts urgent societal issues, including the rise of fascism, human treatment of animals, the male response to feminism, and the disintegration of objective truth.
Listeners drawn to aggressive, progressive-minded alternative underground music should also check out the new track from Nuclear Tomb.
