Durant, Oklahoma bubblegum alternative metal outfit Nova Riot have released their haunting new single, “The Altar.” The track, which features a collaborative guest vocal effort from Matt and Brooke of The Bunny The Bear, serves as the first glimpse into their upcoming debut full-length album, Blood, Lies & Lullabies, arriving on 21st August 2026 via Eclipse Records.
The single is accompanied by a cinematic, horror-infused music video directed by Paris Pipkin and filmed within the weathered walls of a decommissioned church. Mirroring the band’s self-defined aesthetic, the video blends high-fashion gothic sensibilities with aggressive modern hard rock performance. Lyrically, the song tackles concepts of deep ritualistic devotion and the absolute surrender to an external force or person that sparks internal inspiration. “We see music videos as an extension of our art, so we enjoy having our hands in every aspect of the creative processes,” says bassist Orion.
The upcoming album was produced by Braxton Henry alongside co-producers Addison Ray and Paris Pipkin, packaging a volatile seven-track collision of commercial pop melody and underlying alternative grit. Pre-orders and pre-saves for the physical and digital formats of Blood, Lies & Lullabies are officially live ahead of its late summer street date.
