In a move that has sent shockwaves through the metal community, the world’s fastest band, DragonForce, have officially announced the addition of Alissa White-Gluz to their line-up. Marking the start of a massive new era, the former Arch Enemy vocalist joins as the band’s first-ever frontwoman, uniting two of the most powerful forces in extreme power metal.
The timing couldn’t be more significant, as the band prepares to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their seminal album, Inhuman Rampage. Known for the global phenomenon “Through the Fire and Flames”, the album remains a cornerstone of modern metal history. The new-look line-up will make its live debut this weekend at Welcome To Rockville, followed by a performance at Sonic Temple later this month.
Guitarist Herman Li is clearly energised by the change: “Alissa joining the band is an expansion of everything we’ve done up to this point. Having Alissa in the room changes everything. She doesn’t just sing, she makes all aspects of our music better. And she sounds incredible live!”
Alissa herself shared her excitement about the new role, stating: “I am beyond excited to be bringing such iconic music to life with these amazingly skilled musicians. It feels great to showcase all the colours of my voice and utilise all my singing styles in technically challenging, deeply energising, highly addictive songs.”
Fans won’t have to wait long for more news, as the band is already hard at work on their tenth studio album. 2026 is shaping up to be a seismic year for the group. While UK tour dates are yet to be confirmed, the band has promised extensive touring plans to be revealed shortly.
