Slovakian post-black metal outfit Besna have officially released their new digital live album and full concert video project, titled Live at Brutal Assault. Released today, 25th May 2026, the performance captures the band’s milestone early Saturday morning set from last summer’s edition of the iconic European extreme music festival, which drew an exceptionally large crowd to the stage.
The release serves as a bridge for the band while they continue tracking new material for their upcoming sophomore studio album, the follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut long-player, Krásno. The group’s style blends the cold, melancholic aggression of modern post-black metal with subtle progressive arrangements and deeply atmospheric soundscapes.
To bring the visual element of the festival to life, the band’s drummer, Anton Samokhvalov, spearheaded the video editing and color grading. He meticulously compiled multi-cam footage from the festival’s official multi-camera broadcast production alongside additional videographer angles and grassroots fan recordings captured straight from the center of the mosh pit. On the sonic side, audio mixing and post-production duties were handled by Roman Vrecník at Unknown Sound Studio, while the performance’s official cover artwork was crafted by Matúš Novanský.
Live at Brutal Assault is out now across all major digital streaming platforms, with the full video setlist available to watch as a dedicated live playlist on the band’s official YouTube channel.
