Alternative rock quartet Marisa and the Moths have returned with a powerful new music video for their latest single, “Nothing’s Getting Better”. The track serves as a direct confrontation of the women’s health crisis within the medical field, specifically highlighting the lack of research funding and information regarding endometriosis.
Front-woman Marisa Rodriguez wrote the song following a frustrating hospital appointment that left her feeling defeated. While the track began as a somber acoustic piece, the band transformed it into an “upbeat emo anthem” of defiance, aiming to turn personal pain into a powerful connection for listeners. The lyrics also touch upon Rodriguez’s journey coming to terms with recent diagnoses of ADHD, BPD, and CPTSD.
The accompanying music video features a tongue-in-cheek “gory” aesthetic, offering a literal take on the concept of falling apart. Rodriguez describes the release as a significant statement of progression and a new artistic direction for the band.
Since their self-titled debut in 2019, Marisa and the Moths have become one of the UK’s fastest-rising rock acts. Their second album, What Doesn’t Kill You, debuted at No. 1 on the Official UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart in May 2024. The band further solidified their status in 2025 by recording a fully crowdfunded live session at the iconic Abbey Road Studios.
