Hard-edged melodic rockers White Skies have been busy behind the scenes, partnering with not one, but two labels for their upcoming second record. The band have signed with the award-winning Conquest Music for most of the world, while Metalopolis will be handling things over in mainland Europe.
On top of the band’s new home, singer-songwriter Mick White has also inked a major publishing deal with Sony Music / Albam Songs. It’s a massive result for the frontman, who’s been a fixture of the scene since his days in Samson and First Strike. Following on from their 2022 debut Black Tide, the quintet are now gearing up to release their sophomore effort, Shouting At The Hurricane, on 27th March.
To give us a taste of what’s coming, the first single “If This Is It (Get Ready)” is out today. It’s a bit of a belter that leans into the heavier side of their sound. Mick says the track is a bit of a middle finger to the state of modern life – basically, if things are going to be this way, you might as well get on with enjoying yourself anyway. The accompanying video was shot in an old mill in Barley, Lancashire, by long-time mate James Ross Heron.
The band features a proper pedigree of musicians from the likes of Ya Ya, Dante Fox, and Blood Red Saints, so they know their way around a stage. They’ve already built a reputation for a slick live show, and with the new record on the horizon, expect to see plenty more of them this year. You can pre-order the new album on signed CD over at Townsend Music now.
