If there is one thing we know about Ice Nine Kills, it’s that Spencer Charnas doesn’t do things by halves when there is a bit of cinematic bloodshed involved. The band have officially sliced their way into the legendary Scream franchise with their latest track, “Twisting the Knife”, which is set to feature on the official soundtrack for the upcoming Scream 7.
The new tune isn’t just a solo effort, either. They’ve brought along cast member Mckenna Grace to provide some guest vocals, and it’s a cracking pairing that fits the vibe perfectly. Considering the film hits UK cinemas on 27th February, the timing couldn’t be better for a bit of meta-horror madness. You can check out the video below, which features the return of the legendary Roger L. Jackson – the actual voice of Ghostface – to keep the “INKverse” lore ticking along nicely.
Spencer Charnas is clearly buzzing about the collab, mentioning that Scream is baked into his DNA. He’s spent years rubbing shoulders with franchise legends like Matthew Lillard and Neve Campbell, so getting an official nod on the soundtrack is a massive win. Apparently, Mckenna Grace recorded her parts in Spencer’s home studio, right next to an original screen-used knife prop from the first flick. That’s one way to get into character.

The accompanying music video continues the story from 2025’s “The Laugh Track” and features cameos from David Arquette and Johnny Brennan of The Jerky Boys. It’s exactly the kind of theatrical, self-aware horror we’ve come to expect from the lads. We’ve been following their rise for a while now, and you can read our review of their massive Glasgow Hydro show here to see just how well their horror-pantomime translates to the big stages.
It’s been twenty years since their debut, and Ice Nine Kills are arguably at the top of their game. From supporting Metallica on their global stadium run to their massive The Silver Scream projects, they’ve become the go-to band for horror fans who like their riffs heavy and their choruses massive. For those of you heading to the hallowed grounds of Donington this summer, you can catch the band at Download Festival between 12th and 14th June. Given their penchant for on-stage carnage, it’s bound to be a highlight of the weekend.
