Bay Area thrash legends Exodus have dropped a massive slab of news. Their twelfth studio album, Goliath, is set to land on 20th March 2026 via Napalm Records. Even better news for long-time fans is that it marks the first album with vocalist Rob Dukes since 2010. If that wasn’t enough, they’ve released the opening track, “3111”, alongside a video that’s apparently a bit too strong for the delicate sensibilities of YouTube.
The new track is a proper thrasher, dealing with the grim topic of the drug war in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico – specifically the estimated 3,111 murders that took place there in 2010 alone. To match the subject matter, the band put together a video that YouTube kept flagging. As a result, you’ve got two choices: the “safe” version on YouTube, or the uncensored director’s cut hosted on a dedicated website.
Guitarist Gary Holt explains the situation:
So here it is, time to share the full, uncensored version of the video for “3111”! If you put it in movie terminology, we have the PG, PG13, and with this one, the rated R version! With YouTube flagging what we consider the PG13 version repeatedly with threats of losing our page permanently, (which to be honest contains nothing you can’t find on YT already) we decided to really push it and include all the scenes we knew they would not allow! So here’s the full video, with its own website to view! Enjoy!
You can watch the censored version below, or if you have a strong stomach, head over to exodus3111.com for the full experience.
Goliath is shaping up to be a monster of a record. It’s described as their most collaborative effort in decades, featuring writing contributions from several band members and guest spots from Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, Pain) and violinist Katie Jacoby. The band sound absolutely buzzing about it, calling it one of their proudest accomplishments.
