Boston death rockers Final Gasp have announced that their sophomore album, New Day Symptoms, is set for release on 27th February 2026 via Relapse Records. To mark the occasion, the band have dropped a video for the lead single, “The Apparition”.
Following up on their 2023 debut Mourning Moon – which was a proper belter of a record, blending Samhain-style grit with Killing Joke’s intensity – the new album promises to expand their sound even further. Produced by Arthur Rizk, New Day Symptoms sees the band taking a more collaborative approach to songwriting, broadening their scope without losing that underground urgency.
Frontman Jake Murphy describes the new single, “The Apparition”, as a grim tale where reality is worse than fiction. “It’s about a captain and his crew on a small boat,” he explains. “A storm came and capsized it and he and his two crew members were forced to swim to some sort of safety. Ultimately only he survived, having to watch his two friends be taken away by something that could have been avoided.”
You can watch the video for “The Apparition”, directed by Caleb Gowett and Bill Politis, right here. Scroll down and enjoy!
The band are heading out on a massive headline tour across North America to support the release. There is no word on UK or Irish dates just yet, but given the reception to their debut, we’re keeping our fingers crossed they’ll be making the trip across the pond sooner rather than later.
New Day Symptoms is available to pre-order now.
