Dead Pony leave the past behind with heavy new single “Eat My Dust!”

Glasgow’s own Dead Pony are back, and they are making sure everyone knows it. The band have just unleashed their brand new single, “Eat My Dust!”, via ADA. It marks a triumphant return for the group following the success of their debut album. That record didn’t just make waves; it received critical acclaim and even snagged a nomination for Scottish Album Of The Year. After a run of successful tours and festival slots, the band are ready to kick on to the next chapter.

The new track feels like a statement of intent, leaning into a heavier, grittier sound than some might expect. Guitarist Blair Crichton notes that they had a lot of fun experimenting with metalcore influences on the guitars and drums, something the band is keen to explore further. It’s a bold move, but one that fits the energy of the track perfectly.

Lyrically, “Eat My Dust!” is all about looking forward and leaving negativity in the rear-view mirror. Crichton explains the sentiment behind the tune:

“[It’s] written about moving on from negative things in your past, bettering yourself and letting the haters choke on your dust cloud as you pass them… We’ve been through quite a transformational period over the last year and this felt like the perfect mission statement to come out with after some time away from releasing music.”
