Bloodhunter unleash ferocious new video for “The Devil’s Own”

Spanish melodic death metal outfit Bloodhunter are back with a vengeance. Following the announcement of their signing to ROAR (a division of Reigning Phoenix Music), the band have wasted no time in giving us a taste of what’s to come, dropping a video for their brand new single “The Devil’s Own”.

If you’re already familiar with the Galician group, you’ll know they don’t do things by halves. Fronted by the formidable Diva Satanica, they’ve built a solid reputation for mixing razor-sharp riffing with some serious groove. This new track, however, sees them pushing the boat out a little further. It balances that trademark aggression with a darker, more haunting atmosphere that really gets under your skin.

Speaking about the track, Diva Satanica explains that it comes from a very real place:

“I wrote the lyrics while being on my last tour in South America with another band. It was a very intense period of my life when I had to take some of the hardest decisions in my career, so it speaks about that. It was one of our faves since the beginning because it’s very different from what we’ve done so far: it’s pure evil but with lots of beautiful melodies.”

While we’re still waiting on a concrete release date for the upcoming album, “The Devil’s Own” serves as a pretty convincing statement of intent. It’s heavy, it’s melodic, and if this is the direction they are heading in, the new record should be a belter.
