Triple-Grammy nominees Wet Leg have unveiled a brand new video for their track “pokemon”, taken from their second studio album moisturizer. The album, which has secured the band their second consecutive Number 1, is out now.
Fresh from finishing a UK and Ireland headline tour that included a massive show at London’s Royal Albert Hall, the band are keeping the momentum going. moisturizer has been celebrated for its fierce, muscular sound, with publications praising it as a bold step forward that retains the band’s signature wit and energy. The record has recently earned the band three Grammy nominations, including Best Alternative Performance for “mangetout”, Best Alternative Music Album, and Best Recording Package.
The new video for “pokemon”, directed by Elliott Arndt of Faux Real, features Alice Longyu Gao in a surreal narrative involving a relationship with a giant egg—a concept fitting for the band’s often whimsical visual archive. The track itself captures the chaotic spectrum of love, from obsession to bliss, all within a three-and-a-half-minute runtime.
