Icelandic metal collective Power Paladin are back to inject some steel and fire into the new year. The band has unveiled their brand-new single “Sword Vigor”, offering the first taste of their upcoming studio album, Beyond The Reach Of Enchantment.
The new full-length record is scheduled to land on March 27, 2026, via ROAR – A Division of Reigning Phoenix Music. It serves as the follow-up to their well-received debut, With the Magic of Windfyre Steel, and promises to deliver a more mature sound while keeping the high-energy spirit that defined their early work.
“Sword Vigor” is described as a roaring NWOBHM-inspired anthem that acts as a direct sequel to the saga that began with “Kraven the Hunter”. It tells the tale of a warrior mastering ancient arts when all hope seems lost. For fans of Gloryhammer and DragonForce, this looks to be exactly the kind of high-fantasy escapism required to get through the winter.
The band has also shared a tongue-in-cheek music video to accompany the track. If you have ever wondered how power metal bands construct their epic lyrics—and specifically what rhymes with “fire”—the band has also posted a humorous “behind the scenes” clip on their Instagram page which is well worth a watch.
Beyond The Reach Of Enchantment features eight tracks mixed by Haukur Hannes and mastered by Frank de Jong. The artwork was created by James Child at Astral Clock Tower Studios.
