German blackened death metal force Bloodred have officially pulled back the curtain on their upcoming studio album. Titled Colours Of Pain, the record is set to land on February 13, 2026, via Massacre Records. To mark the announcement, the band has unleashed the first single – the album’s devastating title track – accompanied by an official music video.
Serving as the conceptual heart of the record, the song “Colours Of Pain” delves into the spectrum of human suffering. In this vision, emotions manifest as distinct hues: red for rage, black for grief, and grey for numbness. Musically, the track is a blend of relentless blast beats, heavy grooves, and dark melody. The accompanying video, directed by Alexander Krull, visualises this descent into psychological turmoil.
The upcoming album represents a significant evolution for Bloodred. While maintaining the savage blackened death metal foundation of previous releases, Colours Of Pain expands into more atmospheric territory. Themes of betrayal, censorship, societal decay, and global resistance weave through the tracks, creating what is described as the band’s most ambitious and diverse work to date.
Long-time collaborators Ron Merz (vocals, guitars, bass) and Joris Nijenhuis (drums) return to steer the ship, with production handled by Alexander Krull at Mastersound Studio. The album also features a guest appearance from Skálmöld’s Þráinn Árni Baldvinsson, who delivers a guitar solo on the track “Mindvirus”.
