If you’re looking for something to wake you up mid-week, US rockers Hellgrimm might have just the tonic. The band have dropped some significant news regarding their next steps, confirming that their sixth full-length studio album is on the way. Titled Resurrection, the record is currently slated for release in early 2026.
To keep us going until then, the band have unveiled the first taste of the new material with a brand new single, “Dog Trash Must Die”. It’s a bit of a belter and serves a dual purpose as the theme song for the upcoming post-apocalyptic adventure film, Dog Trash. The film is written and directed by Adan Gonzales, and it seems the band are fully invested in the project.
In fact, they aren’t just providing the soundtrack. Several members of Hellgrimm have stepped in front of the camera for the movie, most notably guitarist Jerry Connor. He’s taken on the role of the main antagonist, a character charmingly named Metal Face. It sounds like a bit of a laugh, to be honest, and perfectly suits the high-energy vibe of the track.
Musically, the band have described the new single as an “unabashed thrash assault”. Having given it a spin, it’s fair to say it does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s heavy, fast, and designed to get heads banging. It’s good to see a band not taking themselves too seriously while still churning out heavy riffs.
On the live front, the guys are heading over to Europe in February 2026 to support NWOBHM legends Satan. While they have confirmed a run of dates in Spain, there are no UK or Ireland shows locked in just yet. However, with the promise that more tours and shows are being added to the schedule, we’ve got our fingers crossed that they might make the trip across the Channel to play for us here in Blighty. We’ll keep you posted if any UK dates appear.
