Italian heavy prog metallers Borrower have revealed the full details for their upcoming studio album, Killerdemons. The record is scheduled to land on February 13, 2026, available in both CD and digital formats through Octopus Rising and Argonauta Records.
Killerdemons marks a significant step forward in the band’s creative journey, serving as a direct conceptual sequel to their 2018 EP, A Plague Chapter…. Where the previous release set the stage, this new full-length aims to expand the vision into a darker, more intricate narrative. The band describes the project as a coherent universe where music, imagery, and storytelling intersect.
The album’s concept revolves around the genesis and existence of a squad of humanoid demons. In a twist that adds a cinematic flair to the tracklist, each of the eight songs focuses on a different entity, defining them by specific physical traits and unique weaponry. This structure allows the band to build a broader saga, with plans to develop these characters beyond just the audio experience. Borrower intends to expand the Killerdemons project into the visual and entertainment spheres, potentially utilising graphics, video, and interactive media to flesh out the lore.
Recorded between December 2024 and May 2025 at Underhouse Studio and Aremstudio in the band’s native Italy, the album was engineered by Roger Maglie with additional recording support from Frank Formoso and Mass Ratano. The resulting sound promises to balance the complex structures of heavy progressive metal with sharp songwriting and vivid atmosphere. The striking cover artwork was created by SoloMacello.
Following the previously released single “Dream on Fire”, Borrower have now unleashed the next chapter in this dark mythology with a video for the track “El Degollador”. You can watch the official video below.
