Make It Simple are back, marking the beginning of a significant new chapter for the band with the release of their latest single, “Downfall”. The release comes alongside a music video (scroll down to see it) and follows a recent shift in the group’s lineup, signalling a fresh start for the outfit.
The band now features a revitalised roster consisting of Luca Ferretti Di Gennaro on vocals, Lorenzo Prinzivalli on rhythm guitar, Alberto Croce on lead guitar, Angelo Ferrone on bass, and Federico Prinzivalli on drums. Together, this quintet presents a track that is designed to embody a sense of rebirth, both artistically for the collective and on a personal level for the individuals involved.
Speaking about the themes driving the new song, the band explained that “Downfall” was born from a need to express the heavy weight of making difficult life choices. The lyrics explore the complex guilt of leaving people you care about behind, driven by the realisation that walking away is sometimes the only way to save yourself. It describes a journey through a metaphorical fall, but importantly, it highlights the understanding that something new can be built from the wreckage.
Musically, fans can expect a pivot towards a more modern and melodic sound. However, Make It Simple have ensured that this evolution does not come at the expense of the emotional intensity and impact that has defined their previous work. “Downfall” represents the first step in a direction where metalcore roots merge with cinematic and introspective atmospheres. Released in partnership with Superbia Music Group, the single sends a clear message of resilience: even when everything collapses, the choice to rise again remains yours.
