Lamb of God have shared a riveting live video for their new single “Sepsis”. The clip captures the song’s explosive debut performance, which took place in front of tens of thousands of fans at Aftershock Festival. The performance, directed by Sam Shapiro and Kevin Garcia, was filmed just one day after the single’s official release.
“Sepsis” is the first new music from the Grammy-nominated band since their 2022 album, Omens. Before launching into the track, vocalist Randy Blythe introduced it to the crowd by stating, “This song is about a national sickness.”
The single was produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur. Its original release last month was accompanied by a grainy, lo-fi performance video that provided a moody, unfiltered look at the band’s home city of Richmond, Virginia.
Guitarist Mark Morton explained the track’s origins, revealing it pays homage to their early days as Burn the Priest and the local scene that inspired them. “’Sepsis’ is a celebration of the very underground local bands here in Richmond that we really admired,” Morton shared. “Bands like Breadwinner, Sliang Laos, and Ladyfinger—though they never got widespread attention outside of Richmond, those were the bands we listened to all the time. The song references that stuff in a way that’s a direct line to where we were coming from when we were in the basement writing our earliest material together.”
UK fans wanting to witness the band’s live chaos can catch Lamb of God when they headline the Friday of Bloodstock Open Air Festival on August 7th, 2026, at Walton-on-Trent.
