Portuguese metal act Cult Of Alcaeus present the third and final video of their conceptual trilogy, Doomed Cycles. The release comes in the form of an AMV-style lyric video for the track “The Odyssey Of The Soul”, landing on 1st December 2025.
Marking exactly one year since the original single made its debut, this visual interpretation explores the emotional and existential core of the track. The narrative takes the viewer on a journey through internal chaos and awakening, charting a descent into the soul’s darkest layers. This new visual chapter was brought to life by long-time supporter and friend @x-esdeathAMV, utilising an anime-inspired vision to expand the narrative impact of the song and complete the trilogy’s thematic arc.
The full Doomed Cycles trilogy comprises three distinct chapters: “Forged By Rage”, “Iron Rebellion”, and this final piece, “The Odyssey Of The Soul”. Hailing from the Seixal Bay Area in Lisbon, the band blend a visceral mix of death, thrash, and groove metal. They are known for portraying emotional, existential, and societal collapse through their soundscapes. This specific trilogy introduces a philosophical narrative regarding humanity’s eternal struggle against its own destructive patterns.
Earlier in 2025, the Doomed Cycles material was released as part of the split release Doomed Algorithms via Italian label Nova Era Records. This marked a significant milestone for the group as they continue to expand their footprint within the European extreme metal scene.
