Hardcore heavyweights Converge have unveiled details of their eleventh studio album. Titled Love Is Not Enough, the record is scheduled for release on 13th February 2026 via Epitaph Records and pre-orders are available now. To mark the announcement, the band has shared the music video for the album’s title track, “Love Is Not Enough”.
For over thirty years, Converge have remained a pillar of the underground community, prioritizing artistic intent over commercial perception. From the genre-defining chaos of 2001’s Jane Doe to the expansive collaboration of 2021’s Bloodmoon: I, the quartet—vocalist Jacob Bannon, guitarist Kurt Ballou, bassist Nate Newton, and drummer Ben Koller—have consistently pushed the boundaries of aggressive music. Now, in their 35th year, they return with what promises to be a razor-sharp statement on the turmoil of modern existence.
Speaking on the new single, Bannon explains that the track explores the difficulty of maintaining empathy and compassion in today’s world. He describes it as a reckoning with our current selves and who we hope to become, provided we can survive the “scavengers” of life. The accompanying video is available to stream now.
Recorded and mixed by Kurt Ballou at God City Studios in Salem, Massachusetts, Love Is Not Enough eschews the trend of guest features and excessive studio polish. Bannon highlights that the album aims for realism, a quality he feels is often missing in modern heavy music. Rather than editing the life out of performances to achieve perfection, the band embraced the “wildness” of the takes, allowing the human imperfection to amplify the record’s powerful and angry moments.
The album also breaks from traditional sequencing. Instead of front-loading hits, the band designed the record to continuously ramp up in momentum—a structure Bannon notes is unique in their discography. Alongside the music, Bannon has once again provided the visual direction, creating specific artwork for each track and a cover depicting a “celestial witness to a world aflame”.
Converge will be bringing the new material to the UK next summer, with a scheduled appearance at Outbreak Festival in Manchester.
