Stonetrip release new single “Postcards”

Melbourne hard rock outfit Stonetrip have launched their brand-new single, “Postcards,” now available via Golden Robot Records. The release comes with an accompanying music video.

“Postcards” is a heartfelt reflection on love and distance, inspired by a time before widespread mobile phones and social media, when relationships often relied on handwritten communication to bridge geographical gaps. The song captures the raw emotion of long-distance connections and the profound heartbreak of breakups that occur across miles. Without the immediacy of face-to-face interaction or eye contact, the track delves into the brutal honesty conveyed from afar, and the nuances that can sometimes be lost in written words.

The band commented on the creative process behind the single, stating that “The making of the song included the whole band. We all went into the studio as a band to create our parts. Ricki Rae (producer) who knows our signature sound is a great influence in how the song ends up sounding.” The accompanying video, which was storyboarded—a first for the band—was filmed in the hills of Olinda, Melbourne, Australia, with the help of two actors, and is said to perfectly convey the song’s narrative.

Combining Stonetrip’s trademark power, soaring hooks, and emotional grit, “Postcards” is a release that manages to be both nostalgic and strikingly relevant. It showcases the band’s ability to fuse hard rock energy with a deep sense of vulnerability, marking it as one of their most poignant offerings to date. As their reputation as one of Australia’s most exciting rock acts continues to expand, Stonetrip is once again proving their music resonates deeply with fans across generations.

Hailing from Melbourne, Stonetrip is a powerhouse rock act bringing raw energy, heartfelt storytelling, and stadium-worthy hooks to the modern hard rock scene. Their sound seamlessly blends classic rock grit with a fresh, contemporary edge, earning them a solid reputation. Formed from a shared passion for timeless rock ’n’ roll, they rapidly gained a loyal following through their explosive live performances. Their music features driving riffs, soaring melodies, and anthemic choruses, reflecting influences from rock greats while forging their own unmistakable style.

Since their debut, Stonetrip has maintained strong momentum with a string of dynamic singles and their critically acclaimed self-titled EP, also released through Golden Robot Records. Tracks such as “Runaway,” “Sideways,” and “Nightmare” exemplify the band’s capacity to balance hard-hitting intensity with moments of vulnerability and soul. On stage, Stonetrip is relentless, delivering high-voltage rock experiences that underscore the enduring power of live music. Whether performing intimate club gigs or supporting major touring acts, the band consistently leaves a lasting impression.

With new music on the horizon and a steadily growing international fanbase, Stonetrip is demonstrating that Australian rock is very much alive, loud, and poised to take on the world.

The current line-up includes Mark Ritchie (vocals), Mick Malusa (guitar), Sebastian Barahona (bass), Brett Spicer (drums), and Simon Croft (guitar), with Ricki Rae contributing backing vocals.
