Melodic rocker Jack J Hutchinson has unveiled the lyric video for his new single, “I Will Follow You,” which is the second track to be taken from his forthcoming live album, Battle Scars.
The track is a heartfelt melodic rock ballad that was recorded during his recent UK tour, specifically capturing the performance at the Grace in London. For this track, Hutchinson’s signature sound is backed by the rhythm section of Greg Smith on bass and Phil Wilson on drums.
Shedding light on the origins of the track, Hutchinson described “I Will Follow You” as “the most personal song I’ve written,” revealing it was composed following his father’s diagnosis with Alzheimer’s disease and the associated difficulties. He noted the powerful resonance the song has developed with audiences: “It is one of those songs that seems to have connected with a lot of people who have had a similar experience and when we perform it live it seems to bring people together.” Despite the emotional weight of the subject matter, he views the live performance of the song as a way of “taking what was a really tough experience and turning it into something positive.”
The live album, Battle Scars, which captures Hutchinson and his power trio in full flight, is scheduled for release on 3rd October 2025. The album features ten tracks selected from his first four solo albums, and was compiled from recordings made earlier this year at both the Grace in London and the Tuesday Night Music Club in Coulsdon.
