Withered Land drop video for “Revenge of the Fallen”

This one dropped into our inbox yesterday from Belarusian fantasy black metal act Withered Land. It comes from their forthcoming album Hall of the Dead which is due for release on September 19th.

“Revenge of the Fallen” is the new track/music video and third single from upcoming full-length album Hall of the Dead from Belarusian fantasy black metal band Withered Land. This is the story of a fallen warrior who sets out on a journey to distant lands in search of just retribution for the destruction of his homeland.

The movie The Revenant and The Elder Scrolls lore served as a strong inspiration for the song.

The new conceptual album by Withered Land, stylistically close to atmospheric symphonic black metal, also contains influences of cinematic dungeon synth, Viking metal, and some ethnic folk elements. Some tracks feature the Scandinavian bass tagelharpa, as well as the Karelian-Finnish folk instrument kantele.

With the exception of two instrumental tracks, you can hear furious extreme vocals everywhere, and in one of the compositions, lyrical clean vocals of the founding member of the project, Olga Kann (Monumentum Damnati, Life For Ner’Zhul, Cryo Depth).

The sound was handled by Filippos Koliopanos (Ocean of Grief, ex-On Thorns I Lay). Cover arts and videos made by Olga Kann.
