Heavy metal visionaries Avatar have announced a monumental, one-night-only performance at London’s historic Royal Albert Hall on 30th March 2027. Titled “10 Years of Feathers & Flesh”, the evening will serve as an exclusive celebration marking a decade since the release of their landmark concept album, Feathers & Flesh. Fans can expect the record to be played in its entirety, completely augmented by theatrical sets, dancers, orchestral arrangements, a live choir, and the band’s iconic visual storytelling.
“Feathers & Flesh changed the entire trajectory of how we work,” explains vocalist Johannes Eckerström. “Once you’ve started to think of the big picture in your work, you can’t put that genie back in the bottle. The thing our albums have in common, whether they’re comedy concept albums or satanic sock hops, is that we view them as paintings. They are cohesive pieces of work with a point.”
The announcement follows a triumphant period for the Swedish metal circus, which recently included a massive summer run supporting Metallica on their global stadium tour, alongside their own extensive headlining campaigns in support of latest studio record Don’t Go In The Forest. We previously caught them live in Glasgow, where they proved exactly why their dark cinematic stage presence belongs on the world’s most prestigious stages.
Reflecting on the legacy of the album, drummer John Alfredsson adds: “I end up on a rollercoaster ride; emotions run through every bone of my body. Half my mind ends up in another time and life with this crazy lady laughing, painting owls, playing with microphones and water, hysterically and joyfully clapping her hands. The other half is in this dreamlike forest that only exists in my own mind… I ask myself, did we really create this?”
Standard tickets go on general sale on Wednesday, 8th July at 13:00 BST. Limited VIP “Parliament Packages” and “Talon Tickets” are available immediately to members of the band’s official fan club.
