The folks behind Reaper Agency UK and Fortress Festival have been busy bees, adding another four bands to the line-up for the first-ever Tynebound festival. The two-day black metal bash is set to take over Anarchy Brew Co. in Newcastle on 5-6 September, and it’s already looking like a belter with weekend tickets already over 50% sold.
Leading the charge in this latest update is Magnetar. This is a big one for the underground, as it’ll be their first-ever live performance. Featuring a wealth of talent from the likes of Winterfylleth, Arð, Foetal Juice, and Necronautical, they’ll be bringing tracks from their debut record, There Will Be No Peace In My Valley, to the stage for the very first time. If you like your extreme metal raw and raging, you won’t want to miss this debut.
Joining them are Coscradh, who are heading back to our shores following the release of Carving the Causeway to the Otherworld. It’s a proper slab of blackened death metal that’s been doing the rounds lately. We also have the avant-garde sounds of Lychgate added to the bill, who are well known for their experimental edge and tracks from their latest release, Precipice. Rounding out this announcement is Oakenthrone, a solo project that mixes black metal chill with some seriously mournful doom.
These new names join an already stacked weekend featuring the likes of Moonlight Sorcery, Inferno, Aristarchos, Cnoc An Tursa, and a special ten-year anniversary set from The Infernal Sea. With capacity strictly limited to just 500 punters to keep things intimate and intense, you’d best get a shift on if you want to be there.
Tickets are available now via the Reaper Agency UK BigCartel store. You can also look forward to some custom brews from Anarchy Brew Co., including a special Fortress IPA, to help wash down all that tremolo picking.
