Nottingham’s favourite purveyors of heavy metal madness, Evil Scarecrow, have announced a short run of UK dates for 2026 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Bloodstock Festival. Alongside the tour news, the band have unleashed a brand-new video for the track “Shred the Evidence”.
The world is a bit of a mess right now, and while the Scarecrow crew usually try to steer clear of the general misery of politics, they’ve admitted that sometimes the madness is just too much to ignore. Their latest record, Silicon Tea, released in October 2025, wasn’t originally meant to encapsulate the darkness of modern life, but the band say it has certainly ended up laced with cynicism and irony.
The new track, “Shred the Evidence”, is a bit of a Rorschach test for the listener; it could be a light-hearted ode to binge drinking, a statement on post-hedonistic shame, or something else entirely. As the band puts it, the zeitgeist of our time seems to be that you’ve gotta laugh or you’ll cry.
Tickets for the Shred the Evidence tour go on sale from Tuesday 31st March at 10am.
