Hailing from the sun-soaked shores of Byron Bay, the four-piece pub-punk outfit Mini Skirt have officially confirmed they’re heading our way this May. It’s been five long years since their debut Casino put them on the map for punk fans globally, and after dropping their follow-up record All That We Know at the end of 2025, the lads are finally ready to bring their chaotic live show to UK and European stages.
To celebrate the news, the band have released a new single titled “Mud”. The track comes with a cracking video created by Ben Portnoy of fellow Aussie thrashers C.O.F.F.I.N., which perfectly captures the band’s ragged, no-frills charm. If you haven’t heard them yet, think rough-as-guts pub rock with urgent, frustrated vocals that paint a stark picture of working-class life. They’ve been drawing comparisons to pioneers like X and Radio Birdman, but with a modern, abrasive edge that’s all their own.
The new album, All That We Know, was mixed and mastered by Mikey Young (Total Control, Eddy Current Suppression Ring) and is out now via Bad Vibrations. It’s a proper slab of observational grit, underpinned by the “skin-splitting” drums of Jacob Pumphrey and the driving bass lines of Jesse Pumphrey. While the music can get noisy and abrasive, there’s a real sense of melody and hope buried under the surface.
