Fresh from a blistering set at Damnation Festival, British sludge rock pioneers Raging Speedhorn finish their run of dates this week. The shows mark the 25-year anniversary of the release of the band’s self-titled debut album.
The tour kicked off on 20th November in Milton Keynes and concludes in Newcastle on 30th November. Joining them on the road as support for these dates are sonic reprobates Mastiff. Fans hoping to catch the shows should be aware that demand has been high; all but two dates are already sold out.
Speaking about the tour, drummer Gordon Morison said:
“We’re happy to announce that we’re going to be hitting the road in November to play four intimate shows to celebrate 25 years of our first record. Support will be the amazing Mastiff. Hope to see you all there to party with us!”
Since the release of their eponymous debut in 2000, Raging Speedhorn have enjoyed a career built on stunning, unhinged, and raucous live shows. Over the last quarter of a century, they have played countless worldwide shows and festivals, sharing stages with heavyweights such as Slipknot, Clutch, and Biohazard. Notably, the band opened the infamous 2001 UK Ozzfest at Milton Keynes Bowl, playing in front of 50,000 metalheads.

Their history is as colourful as their music is heavy; from spending a night behind bars in Spain while on tour with Biohazard to causing havoc during the 2002 Kerrang! Awards in London, a chaotic evening that resulted in Placebo’s Brian Molko joining in on the action and flipping over the band’s alcohol-laden table.
More recently, the band released Hard To Kill during the global pandemic on their own label, Red Weed Records. Despite the difficulties of the time, it became their biggest release in years, hitting #11 on the UK Rock & Indie Chart without the backing of a record label. With a new deal and new album in tow, the band’s teenage spirit of rebellion remains intact.
Reflecting on their longevity, Morison added:
“I love being in this band, it’s the only thing I’ve done for this long and I love playing music with these guys. Why would I want to stop? It’s in your blood, you can’t stop. We were kids when we started, and it seems like I blinked and I’m still here doing this… It’s about chemistry and not giving a fuck and just believing in what you want to do.”
