The Troops of Doom announce UK tour for October

Brazilian death metal extremists The Troops of Doom have announced a run of UK dates for this October. The tour comes in support of their critically acclaimed second album, A Mass To The Grotesque, which was released in May 2024 via Alma Mater Records.

The band, which features former Sepultura guitarist Jairo “Tormentor” Guedz, will bring their authentic brand of classic death metal to nine cities across the UK, starting in Glasgow on October 18th. This tour marks a significant milestone for the South American powerhouse as they continue to carry the torch for the genre with unrelenting ferocity.

Guedz commented on the upcoming dates: “Me and my bandmates are super excited and full of energy for this upcoming UK and European tour in October and November 2025! One of the highlights for us will be playing in Birmingham — the hometown of the legendary Black Sabbath and one of the true birthplaces of Heavy Metal. We’re proud and can’t wait to hit the road! See you on the road!”

The Troops of Doom was formed during the pandemic in 2020 by Guedz, whose guitar work was fundamental to the sound of Sepultura’s early releases, Bestial Devastation (1985) and Morbid Visions (1986). The lineup is a veritable who’s who of the Brazilian metal scene, completed by renowned graphic artist and guitarist Marcelo Vasco (Patria, Mysteriis), vocalist/bassist Alex Kafer, and drummer Alexandre Oliveira. The band’s mission is to revive the classic 80s death metal sound, drawing inspiration from early Sepultura alongside pioneers like Slayer, Celtic Frost, and Kreator.

Following on from a trio of EPs and their 2022 debut album Antichrist Reborn, their latest offering, A Mass To The Grotesque, was produced by André Moraes (Sepultura’s Dante XXI) and mixed and mastered by the legendary Jim Morris at Morrisound Recording in Florida, a studio responsible for some of death metal’s most iconic albums.
