Australian progressive metal unit Pyrefly have finally released their debut full-length album, Lost & Found. Recorded in the band’s own home studio and mixed and mastered by Justin Gonzales at PAL Studios, the record marks a triumphant and emotional milestone for the Sydney-based quintet.
Formed in 2016, Pyrefly’s journey was tragically interrupted in 2018 following the passing of original member Katrina Tuffy. After a period of mourning, the band reformed in 2019 with a renewed spirit, eventually sharing stages with international heavyweights like Mastodon, Korn, and Avatar. The new album serves as both a tribute to their history and a bold step into the future, bolstered by the recent addition of guitarist Hades Hellfire to the line-up of KJ Risk, Andrew Courtney, Robbie Grey, Alanis “Sticks” Bentley, and Trent “Treadly” Knights.
Musically, Lost & Found delivers a sophisticated blend of heavy riffs and progressive textures, solidifying the band’s reputation as one of the most resilient forces in the Australian metal scene. The album is available now on all major streaming platforms.
