HarperNonFiction has announced the upcoming publication of Hello Boys and Girls!, the “thrilling, hilarious and deeply personal” autobiography of Iron Maiden’s legendary drummer, Nicko McBrain. Set for release on 22nd October 2026, the book will be available in hardback, ebook, and audio formats.
McBrain, who joined Iron Maiden in 1982 and made his recording debut on the seminal Piece of Mind, has spent over four decades as a pivotal figure in shaping the band’s dynamic sound. The memoir promises an unfiltered look at his journey, from his early days honing his craft in the competitive studios of London’s Soho to becoming “Mr. Iron Maiden” for millions of fans worldwide. Beyond the music, the book explores his life off-stage, his session work with the likes of Pat Travers and Trust, and the incredible resilience he showed returning to the kit following a stroke in 2023.
“I am blessed to be able to finally share my path to where I am today, in my own words, with the world,” says McBrain. “It’s full of lots of fun stories, anecdotes, and of course my incredible experiences with some of the greatest musicians and performers from the 70s, 80s, and beyond!”
The announcement comes as Iron Maiden continue their global dominance, proving that even after fifty years, the band remains a peerless force in heavy metal. Hello Boys and Girls! is expected to be a mandatory read for the Maiden faithful, offering a front-row seat to one of the genre’s most storied lives.
