Mad Sneaks rescue the essence of grunge with new album ‘Incognito’

Brazilian power trio Mad Sneaks are leading a resurgence of raw, visceral rock with the release of their latest album, Incognito. In an era dominated by polished digital productions and algorithm-driven playlists, the band is deliberately pushing back, offering a sound that is unapologetically human, imperfect, and authentic.

Incognito is an English-language reimagining of the band’s 2012 debut, Incógnita. The original sessions were mastered by the legendary Jack Endino, the producer synonymous with the Seattle grunge explosion and fundamental works by Nirvana and Soundgarden. Re-presented over a decade later with heavier arrangements and a renewed aesthetic, the album aims to connect with a new generation of listeners seeking a response to the artificiality of the digital age.

The record further solidifies the band’s alternative rock pedigree with “Dead Killer,” a track featuring international alternative metal icon Page Hamilton of Helmet. Beyond the music, Mad Sneaks – comprising Agno Dissan (vocals/guitar), Amaury Johns (drums), and Phill Andreas (bass) – are making waves with a defiant distribution strategy. In a move rarely seen today, the band has opted out of traditional streaming services like Spotify, releasing the album exclusively via Bandcamp and in a strictly limited physical CD run.

“Our focus has never been profit above all else,” says frontman Agno Dissan. “In an increasingly volatile and disposable scenario, we prefer to build an organic base of listeners who truly understand our music, rather than inflated and lifeless numbers.”
