R.A.I.D unleash new album Retribution with powerful title-track video

Hyderabad-based hardcore heavyweights R.A.I.D (Rueban And the Imperium Division) have just dropped their fourth studio album, Retribution, and they’ve shared a hard-hitting video for the title track to celebrate. The four-piece has been grinding away since 2016, and this latest record looks set to be their most intense work yet.

The new video for “Retribution” follows on from their March single “Killer Instinct”, and it’s a visceral piece of work that matches the song’s heavy themes. Vocalist Rueban Issac hasn’t held back on this one, explaining that the track deals with the fallout of surviving childhood and domestic abuse. It’s not about revenge, though – it’s about “self-liberation” and breaking the cycle of trauma.

The band’s sound is a proper mix of old-school hardcore and crossover thrash, taking cues from legends like Madball and Suicidal Tendencies while keeping things fresh with a modern metal edge. Think Knocked Loose or Kublai Khan TX and you’re in the right ballpark. Despite the heavy subject matter, R.A.I.D are all about that “Positive Mental Attitude” (PMA), focusing on resilience and reclaiming your own identity.

We’ve kept an eye on the Indian metal scene before, and R.A.I.D have been steadily building a solid reputation globally with their previous albums The Strong Survive, Imperium, and Defiance. This new record, Retribution, is out today, and you can check out the tracklist below if you’re looking for your next hardcore fix.
