Manchester’s own Horsemeat are set to return on 24th April 2026 with their latest offering, “Immune Disorder”. Far from a traditional single, the track is a near eight-minute odyssey that traverses crushing alt-metal, adventurous progressive detours, and a swirling psychedelic haze.
Described as behaving “more like a condition than a composition,” the track was originally recorded at Buffalo Studios in April 2025. The band – comprised of Bert Genovese, Rob Jenkinson, and Lewis Kirk – spent a protracted period shaping and rebuilding the song. Lyrically, “Immune Disorder” delves into the emotional fallout of a body turning against itself, exploring themes of betrayal, paranoia, and uneasy acceptance.
The track marks a significant new chapter for the band, whose sound has been hailed as a “massive sound that is frankly fucking filthy” by RGM and likened to a blend of Sonic Youth and Big Black. In 2024, Horsemeat earned a spot on Louder Than War’s Top 100 Albums list, cementing their reputation as a “pure throbbing rock beast”.
Fans of TOOL, Soundgarden, and Therapy? will find plenty to sink their teeth into when the single lands on all streaming platforms later this month.
