Odium Records have officially announced the seventh studio album from Polish black/death metal veterans Hell-Born. Titled simply VII, the record marks a significant milestone for the band, which was formed back in 1996 by Behemoth co-founder Baal and fellow former Behemoth and Damnation member Les.
The label is describing VII as the most complex, ominous, and apocalyptic work in the group’s entire discography. Across seven tracks, the band delivers their signature brand of old-school blackened death metal, retaining the melodic touches that have defined their sound over the last few decades. Recording, mixing, and mastering for the project were handled at Creme de la Creme Studio.
Fans of physical media will have plenty to get their teeth into when the album drops in the coming months. Odium Records are planning an 11-panel digipak specifically designed in the shape of an inverted cross, alongside a gatefold heavy vinyl edition and a limited-edition wooden box set.
To top things off, the band is also celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 1996 self-titled mini-album, Hell-Born. The cult release will be reissued for the first time ever on both vinyl and CD, featuring brand-new mastering and a collection of archival photos from the band’s early days.
