North East alt-rockers Fine Night Elements have officially dropped their debut EP, All We Know, along with its title track as a lead single. Released on 24th April via Kycker, the new material sees the working-class outfit blending their gritty rock roots with electronic textures and a cinematic atmosphere that’s hard to pin down to just one genre.
Formed in 2021, the band have used this five-track collection to tackle some heavy subject matter. From the climate crisis and corporate greed to the personal tolls of war and grief, it’s a record that feels very much of its time. The EP kicks off with eerie guitar tones before dropping into a tribal drum beat and a thick, gritty bassline that sets the tone for the rest of the journey.
The lads have kept things local for the aesthetic side of the release too. The cover art for All We Know is a bespoke canvas painting by North East artist Lewis Whatcott. It’s a striking piece that brings the lyrics of the title track to life, specifically the line: “Sun shines through to the forest floor, last flower raises its head but only once more.” Combined with a series of band photos taken in the woods, it’s clear the guys have a very specific, cohesive vision for this era of the band.
If you fancy something that feels grounded yet ambitious, All We Know is well worth a spin. You can find it on Spotify now, and keep an eye on their socials for news of any upcoming UK gigs.
