UK thrash veterans Acid Reign are officially back with their first new album in seven years. Titled Daze Of The Week, the record is set to drop via Back On Black on 15th May 2026. This marks their first full-length release since 2019’s critically acclaimed The Age Of Entitlement.
To celebrate the announcement, the band has shared the first single, “Fantastic Passion” (available here, playing below), which features a guest appearance from Charlie Griffiths (ex-Haken) on duelling guitar solos. Frontman Howard H Smith, who has been steering the ship for 41 years, isn’t holding back on his excitement: “I have never been more excited by the prospect of anything than releasing Daze Of The Week on the unsuspecting thrash metal public. This one is for every single thrasher around the world who thought that albums like this couldn’t be made anymore.”
The album was produced by the band’s long-term collaborator Jayce Lewis. According to Griffiths, fans can expect “wall to wall awesome riffs, great songwriting and beautifully angry lyrics and vocals.” Pre-orders are already live, and the band will be hitting the road across the UK and Ireland shortly after the album’s release.
