If you’re a fan of that classic, driving heavy metal sound that makes you want to put on a denim jacket and find a motorbike, then you’ll want to keep an ear out for Seven Metal Sins. The band, which features former members of French metallers Manigance, have just announced that their debut full-length, Legacy of Chaos, will be landing on 5th June via Rockshots Records.
To give us a taste of what’s coming, the guys have unleashed the first single, “Wolves of the Last Dawn”. It’s a proper high-energy belter that sits comfortably between classic heavy metal and the speed of modern power metal. Think along the lines of Accept, Primal Fear, or early Helloween – all sharp riffs, galloping rhythms, and a commanding vocal performance from singer Claw-G. It’s exactly the kind of stuff that’ll get a crowd moving at a summer festival.
The band was put together in 2024 by bassist Stéphane Lacoude and drummer Patrick Soria. They’ve clearly spent their time wisely, recruiting guitarists Antton Iriart and Frédéric Auclerc to round out a line-up that sounds tight and focused. Lyrically, they aren’t just singing about dragons and leather; “Wolves of the Last Dawn” touches on some pretty heavy contemporary themes like social instability and environmental decline, wrapped up in a dystopian sci-fi vibe. The band says the track represents that fragile moment of choosing whether to resist or surrender right before everything collapses – heavy stuff for a Tuesday morning, but it fits the music perfectly.
The upcoming album features eleven tracks and was mixed by Jérémie Garat and mastered by Simon Capony, ensuring it has that punchy, modern production that power metal needs to really cut through. It’s been a bit of a quick rise for the band since their first single “Hypocrisy” dropped last year, but with the experience these lads have under their belts, it’s no surprise they’ve hit the ground running. We’ll be keeping an eye on them as we head towards the June release date.
