Just anounced on the “Bastard Sons” Facebook page is the passing of another legend, and genuinely lovely human being, Phil Campbell. To quote the post, he “passed away peacefully last night following a long and courageous battle in intensive care after a complex major operation.”
We caught Phil on numerous tours with the Bastard Sons, and Gary (one of our long-standing photographers) was lucky enough to see him on pretty much all his Motörhead tours.
I’m sure loads of of have memories of seeing him live in one capacity or the other and listening to his music. As always our thoughts are with Phil’s family, his friends and those who worked and played with him. And we remember him with only a tiny sample of the great music he created and which will keep his memory alive.
