New Hampshire’s Great American Ghost have decided they aren’t quite finished with their latest era just yet. Having released the original The Tragedy of the Commons back in early 2025, the quintet have returned today with a massive digital-only deluxe edition, aptly titled The Tragedy of the Commons (Reconstructed). This beefed-up version features a whopping 19 tracks. Not only do you get the full original record, but the band has packed in two previous singles, “Kerosene | Purged” and “Scars”, along with a cover of the Deftones classic “Hole in the Earth”. If that wasn’t enough, there are a few more surprises tucked away in the tracklist to keep the punters happy.
To celebrate the release, the guys have shared a new visualizer for “Hymn of Decay”. It’s a bit of a special one, as it features guest vocals from Scott Kennedy of Bleed From Within. If you caught the band on tour with the Bleed From Within lads last year – we saw them twice in Glasgow and they were absolutely cracking – you’ll know these two bands get on like a house on fire. Speaking about the new release, the band said they realised they still had more to say within the world they built for the original record. According to the guys, this “Reconstructed” version is their final word on the matter. It’s a proper essential listen for anyone who has been following their journey since the early days of Everyone Leaves or 2020’s Power Through Terror.
