Pennsylvania’s own Gore Machine are back to turn stomachs once again, dropping their sophomore effort Congealed And Foaming via the reliably grim Horror Pain Gore Death Productions. If you caught their 2024 debut, Macerated & Liquified, you’ll know exactly what’s in store here: ten tracks of uncompromising, slamming death metal and goregrind that doesn’t mess about.
This time around, the lads have focused their lyrical sights on some of the more bizarre and “Darwinian” deaths from the history books. It’s a proper auditory assault that’ll appeal to anyone who spends their time spinning records by Dying Fetus, Devourment, or Cannibal Corpse. There’s a healthy dose of that classic Carcass-style filth in there too, mixed with the kind of modern slam that’ll have pits moving in no time.
The album is available right now on CD and digital formats. If you fancy showing off your love for the macabre at your next local gig, they’ve also put out some “Bathroom Bloodbath” t-shirts and logo trucker hats to go along with the release. We’ve had a listen to the lead single, “Shish Kabobs”, and can confirm it’s every bit as subtle as the title suggests – which is to say, not at all. It’s heavy, it’s gross, and it’s exactly what the underground scene needs right now.
You can grab the CD for a tenner or the digital download for the appropriately priced $6.66. No word on UK tour dates just yet, but given how prolific these guys are getting, we’re hoping they’ll make the trip across the pond sooner rather than later.
