It’s hard to wrap your head around the fact that it’s been two decades since Bullet For My Valentine burst out of Wales and started dominating the metal scene. While their debut album The Poison was the one that really put them on the map as leaders of the British metal pack, the foundations were actually laid a bit earlier with their 2004 EP, Hand Of Blood. That release was the first real look at a band that would go on to change the alternative music landscape entirely.
To celebrate the milestone, the band have announced that the Hand Of Blood EP is getting a standalone reissue. It’s a proper nod to the early days and the raw energy that started it all before they were selling out arenas and topping charts. Frontman Matt Tuck is clearly feeling the nostalgia, too. He mentioned that he can’t quite believe it’s been twenty years and that he’s massively proud of everything the band has achieved since those first recordings.
Since that EP dropped, the guys have had a pretty legendary run. The Poison eventually went gold and even landed a spot in Metal Hammer’s list of the greatest metal albums of the century. They’ve recently been celebrating that legacy alongside their mates in Trivium on ‘The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour’, which saw them playing massive shows across the globe, including a huge night at London’s O2 Arena.
