Astral Goat Dominion summon ritual vibes with debut album “Only Lucifer and Fuzz”

German stoner doom duo Astral Goat Dominion have finally unleashed their debut full-length, Only Lucifer and Fuzz, a record that lives up to its name by delivering a dense, hypnotic mix of occult themes and wall-to-wall distortion. The project is the brainchild of Marco Oniric, who handles bass, vocals, synths, and “rituals,” alongside guitarist and vocalist Sergio Khaosfuzz.

The album was brought to life at Fuzz Armageddon Studios before being sent over to Beat Crusher recording studios for mixing and mastering. Following on from their initial single, “Lucifer (Part I)”, the new record marks a significant step up in their “ritual psych” sound, blending the crushing weight of classic doom with trance-like synths and martial drum machines. If you’re a fan of the slow-and-low approach favoured by bands like Electric Wizard or the desert grooves of Kyuss, this is likely right up your street.

The band has described the release as a “dense and hypnotic ritual,” aimed at merging crushing riffs with a dark, Luciferian atmosphere. It’s certainly not your standard pub rock; the duo lean heavily into the ceremonial side of the genre, creating a sonic experience that feels more like a summoned entity than a simple collection of songs.

The tracklist for Only Lucifer and Fuzz is as follows:

  1. Intro Acida
  2. Lucifer (part I)
  3. Only Lucifer and Fuzz
  4. The Acid Ritual
  5. Malignant Sign ov Evil
  6. Bloody River
  7. Make the Sludge Doom great again
  8. Outro Disperata
