Samurai Pizza Cats announce details of second album ‘Press Start’

The news is out: German electronic metalcore outfit Samurai Pizza Cats have announced their long-awaited second album. Titled Press Start, the record is set to land on 27th March 2026 via Century Media Records.

The album announcement comes hot on the heels of a string of singles including “Super Zero”, “Pandastruck”, “Fear No Slice”, and “City of Gold”, all of which will feature on the new release. It marks the follow-up to their 2023 debut, You’re Hellcome, which cracked the German Top 100.

There’s been a bit of a shake-up in the camp as well. The band have taken to social media to welcome powerhouse drummer Robin Scheer to the lineup. He replaces Stefan Buchwald, who has decided to step away from the kit on his own terms. With a fresh rhythm section and a new record in the chamber, the band are gearing up for a busy 2026.

Speaking of busy, the launch coincides with the band’s very own “Samurai Pizza Fest” in Cologne on 28th March. If you were hoping to pop over for a pint and a mosh, you’re out of luck – the event has already sold out. However, with the promise of an ambitious run of live shows on the horizon, hopefully, they’ll be bringing their blend of deathcore, metalcore and anime references to a venue near us soon.
