One-man powerhouse Illegal Mind is back at it, dropping a brand-new single that’s bound to get the cogs turning. Titled “Prison of My Mind”, the track is a raw, introspective slice of punk rock that dives headfirst into the silent scraps we all have with our own thoughts.
The brain behind the project, Maxx Dee, has never been one to shy away from the gritty stuff. With this latest tune, he’s not interested in nostalgia; he’s looking for a confrontation. It’s that moment when the walls inside your head start talking back, and you realise you’re the one who built them. Musically, it’s stripped back and bruising – think the street-level grit of Rancid mixed with the pulse of Millencolin and a bit of early Blink-182 honesty for good measure.
