Heavy Salad to release fizzing new single “Memories” in January

It’s always a good day when we get wind of fresh tunes, and Heavy Salad are kicking off 2026 in style. The band have announced the release of their long-awaited new single, “Memories”, which is set to land on digital platforms on Friday, January 9th via Kycker.

If you’re looking for pedigree in the studio, this track certainly has it. “Memories” was produced by none other than Ross Orton. For those not in the know, Orton has been behind the desk for some absolutely massive records, working with the likes of Working Men’s Club, GANS, Ibibio Sound Machine, and a little band you might have heard of called Arctic Monkeys. It’s a solid sign that the production on this one is going to be top-tier.

The band seem to be getting a bit philosophical with the themes on this release. They’re asking the big questions: Do you remember rock n roll radio? Is a memory a place, a time, or a person? It’s a bit deeper than your average chat at the pub, but we like a bit of thinking music now and then. They’ve described the sound as “fizzing, fuzzy new wave pop,” which sounds right up our street.

Clocking in at a punchy two and a half minutes, it promises to be a short, sharp shock of melody that doesn’t overstay its welcome. They claim the melody is strong enough to “surf all the way to space,” which is a bold claim, but we’re keen to hear if they pull it off. If you want to make sure you hear it the second it drops, you can pre-save the track here.
