Hamburg hardcore crew Dagger Threat are celebrating a decade of noise with their new album bleed///reboot, which hits the shelves today (January 23rd). It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years since they first kicked off back in 2016, but they’ve certainly kept themselves busy establishing a reputation in the heavy underground.
This new record sees them doubling down on that signature mix of hardcore aggression and the bounce of early 2000s nu-metal. It’s a short, sharp shock to the system, clocking in at just thirty minutes. The band have trimmed the fat here; there’s no filler, just ten tracks of industrial-tinged grooves and heavy riffs designed to get heads banging. It sounds like the band are operating at full power, fusing chaos and control into something that sticks with you.
They’ve brought a few mates along for the ride as well. The track “Leech” features guest spots from Matthi of Nasty and Alan from Distant, adding some serious weight to proceedings. But the real talking point is likely to be “Code Red”. This massive collaboration sees members from a whole host of bands—Peace of Mind, Dethroned, Slow Burn, Torch It, Blossom Decay, Collisions, and Second Sight—all jumping on one track. It’s a proper showcase of the scene’s unity.
While the band are currently lining up a run of launch shows over in Germany to support the release, there’s no word on UK dates just yet. Here’s hoping they bring this new material across the channel sooner rather than later. If you want to grab a copy of the new record, you can do so here.
